Phone Coverage in Mt. Laurel, NJ, at a Glance

Lightning-Fast Data Speeds on Major Networks

Mt. Laurel, NJ, is a township close to Philadelphia. The city has great 4G LTE coverage by the three major networks, but the strong 5G deployment in Philadelphia has not reached this township just yet. That being said, there are few reports of congestion in the area, as the overall data consumption is far lower in townships like Mt. Laurel than in major metropolitan centers like Philadelphia or New York City.

Let’s break down what the top three carriers in Mt. Laurel, NJ, bring to the table.

Local and National Cell Phone Carriers in Mt. Laurel, NJ

The top three carriers in Mt. Laurel, NJ, are AT&T, Verizon Wireless, and T-Mobile.

AT&T is your best option for cell phone coverage in Mt. Laurel, NJ. T-Mobile is the best because of its extensive 4G LTE  coverage in the area. While this network is not as strong or fast as 5G networks in the country, it is much more reliable. In time, Mt. Laurel will see better 5G coverage from the major networks, but before that happens, AT&T is your best option for reliable coverage.

In the main body of this article, we cover the three major wireless networks, which all own and operate their networks. AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile pay for the maintenance and upgrades of national network infrastructure. Their cell phone plans are more expensive than the competition but provide unlimited high-speed data and faster data speeds.

The competition in this analogy is Mobile Virtual Network Operators, or MVNOs. These companies rent the network from major providers, so they have lower fees and running costs. Their cell phone plans are less expensive but often have limited high-speed data and slower speeds.

#1 in Mt. Laurel, NJ: AT&T

Fastest 5G and 4G LTE in Mt. Laurel, NJ

AT&T, with its staunch 4G LTE coverage, receives the title of best cell phone coverage in Mt. Laurel, NJ. AT&T’s coverage is reliable and fast, with few dead spots or other slow zones throughout the city. AT&T has excellent coverage in Philadelphia, New York, and all over New Jersey, making this a great network for those who travel frequently, be it for work or fun. Let’s take a look at their cell phone plans.

Price: Varies

Plan: AT&T offers three unlimited plans at various price points.

AT&T offers three unlimited plans.

  • AT&T Unlimited Starter Plan
  • AT&T Unlimited Extra Plan
  • AT&T Unlimited Premium Plan

AT&T’s unlimited plans start at a high price point and become much more affordable with the addition of new lines. Multi-line savings are similar among the three major providers and are essential to avoid paying huge cell phone bills each month. These are the basic details of AT&T’s three cell phone plans:

  • AT&T’s starter plan has unlimited high-speed data with 3 GBs of high-speed hotspot data.
  • AT&T’s extra plan comes with 50 GB of premium data and 15 GB of high-speed hotspot data.
  • AT&T’s premium plan comes with unlimited premium data and 50 GB of high-speed hotspot data.

This is a great trio of plans, with the hotspot data an excellent addition for those who can make use of it. While the unlimited premium data is great, the added cost of the 50 GB hotspot data will weigh on your cell phone bills if it goes unused each month. We like to highlight the premium data as one of the biggest benefits of high-tier plans, but as you shop around for the best cell phone coverage in Mt. Laurel, NJ, make sure to see what other plans have to offer and decide which one is the best for you!

👍 What We Liked

  • Reliable Network. Many customers report excellent high-speed data, even in the most tourist-heavy cities around the country.
  • Hotspot Data. High-speed hotspot data can come in handy if you often find yourself out and about and need to access the web on a laptop or tablet.

👎 What We Didn’t Like

  • SD Streaming. The first two cell phone plans only offer standard definition streaming, while AT&T’s Unlimited Premium Plan has HD streaming. Cutting video streaming off at standard definition for the starter and the mid-tier plan is a tough sell for anyone who likes to stream video when on the move.
  • Price. Overall, prices at AT&T are challenging to pay without multi-line discounts. If you can, find some friends to take out an account together and enjoy serious savings.

#2 in Mt. Laurel, NJ: Verizon Wireless

Best Cell Phone Plan Range in Mt. Laurel, NJ

Next on our list is Verizon Wireless, another of the fabled Big Three in the United States. We want to highlight each network because they all provide excellent coverage in Mt. Laurel, NJ, and have a unique set of cell phone plans with strengths and weaknesses. Alongside that, each carrier has a vibrant group of MVNOs that utilize their networks. Before we discuss Verizon’s cell phone plans and coverage in Mt. Laurel, NJ, we wanted to highlight the three tiers of data available to cell phone customers and how it affects cell phone plan pricing.

  1. At the top are priority data users. These are major wireless customers who get the fastest data possible and pay the most for their service.
  2. Tier two is basic data users. These major wireless customers use the network's basic data. They experience data slowdowns if the network is congested and tier-three users are already slowed down.
  3. The first users to receive data slowdowns are MVNO users. All MVNO users are tier-three users and receive slowed-down data if the network ever shows signs of congestion.

Price: Varies

Plan: Verizon offers a pair of unlimited plans. One has unlimited high-speed data, and the other has unlimited premium high-speed data.

Verizon offers two unlimited plans.

  • Welcome Unlimited, priced at $65/55/40/30 a month per line
  • Unlimited Plus, priced at $80/70/55/45 a month per line

Similarly to AT&T, Verizon has impressive 4G LTE coverage throughout the township. Their basic unlimited plan, unfortunately, does not come with any premium data, but we don’t foresee that becoming a big issue unless you travel to major metropolitan centers around the States.

The premium plan is an extra $15, and it gives the following perks:

  • 30 GB mobile hotspot
  • Device savings
  • Price Guarantee
  • Premium data

The premium data alone may be enough to warrant the extra monthly cost, but the hotspot data is a nice addition. The device savings are great if you need a new phone, but keep an eye open for payment contracts, which can extend years into the future. The extra $15 per line does add up. We recommend it primarily for users who travel into cities with some frequency.

Alongside the base price of the plans, Verizon offers a wide variety of add-ons, which are nice bonuses to their service. The best part — they are optional. Each add-on is $10 a month and saves you some money on the service, but if none of them seem like things you need, then you can skip it entirely and stick with the base plan.

We have Verizon at the bottom of this list, but don’t count them out! Verizon’s coverage in New Jersey is excellent. Especially if you spend a lot of time in Mt. Laurel, you will experience high-speed data almost all the time.

👍 What We Liked

  • Flexible Add-Ons. Verizon has a great suite of add-ons, including streaming services like Netflix and Disney+. This is a great way to save a little on streaming services each month.
  • Family Plan Savings. Any additional lines you can add to your account will save you and your account mates big on your cell phone bill.

👎 What We Didn’t Like

  • Price. Verizon is expensive. Their plans provide great service, lightning-fast speeds, and lots of add-ons, but they come at a high price.
  • Customer Service. This is certainly not unique to Verizon, but their customer service does not always solve the problems ailing their customers.

#3 in Mt. Laurel, NJ: T-Mobile

Most Affordable Cell Phone Plans in Mt. Laurel, NJ

While T-Mobile is third on our list, they are still close to providing the best cell phone coverage in Mt. Laurel, NJ, due to its strong network in and around the city. There are certain areas in the United States where T-Mobile’s network struggles compared to its competition, but Mt. Laurel is not one of them! As T-Mobile’s networks are very strong, it means customers on the major network rarely experience congestion in the Mt. Laurel area.

While T-Mobile’s network evades congestion throughout the majority of Mt. Laurel, NJ, there are always certain spots that have above-average congestion. Many T-Mobile users avoid congestion entirely as they enjoy the best cell phone coverage in Mt. Laurel, NJ. Let’s take a look at what they have to offer.

Price: Varies

Plan: T-Mobile offers three unlimited plans at various price points. While these plans are all very expensive, multi-line accounts save big.

The biggest change between the plans, besides the price, is the amount of premium data your account receives. Premium data means you will receive high-speed data unless the network is flooded (think Eagles game in Philadelphia amount of people). If you want the highest chances of high-speed data in your day-to-day, and you notice congestion on their basic data, then premium data should be a priority. Fortunately, every single plan at T-Mobile receives premium cell phone data, divided as follows:

  • T-Mobile Essentials receives 50 GB of premium data
  • T-Mobile Go5G receives 100 GB of premium data
  • T-Mobile Go5G Plus receives unlimited premium data

We recommend T-Mobile Essentials in Mt. Laurel, NJ, but if you travel to Philadelphia or New York regularly, you may wish for a bigger pool of premium data to ensure you have high-speed data when you need it most.

If you are a frequent traveler, we recommend looking at local coverage maps in those locations as well. While T-Mobile provides the best cell phone coverage in Mt. Laurel, NJ, each major network and their various MVNOs provide fair coverage in the area, where there are certain areas of the country where one carrier is far superior to the competition.

👍 What We Liked

  • Large 5G Network. T-Mobile’s 5G coverage is second-to-none. They have long prioritized constructing their network, and their service has improved a lot over the years.
  • Premium Data. Starting their plans with 50 GBs is a great feature that neither of the other major networks has done.

👎 What We Didn’t Like

  • Phone Deals. Be wary when you see awesome new customer deals at T-Mobile. They often lock you into two or three years of service on their most expensive plan.
  • Spotty Rural Coverage. While T-Mobile’s 5G network is excellent, it lacks the country-wide coverage that AT&T and Verizon share. Certain rural areas around New Jersey see slow data speeds on T-Mobile’s network.

Get to Know Your Local Carrier Options in Mt. Laurel, NJ

This article highlighted the three major wireless networks. AT&T provides the best cell phone coverage in Mt. Laurel overall, but the other two networks are solid contenders for coverage in that area.

We talked about major networks in this article, but make sure to look at MVNOs for each provider as well. Major networks are best for high-data users, but if you don’t use too much data during the day and are okay with less data priority, MVNO cell phone plans can save you big on your monthly bills. If you are interested in piggybacking off of AT&T’s network, consider looking at Cricket Wireless. They are one of a few MVNOs that offer unlimited high-speed data, and they have amazing multi-line savings on their unlimited plans.

Whether you are vacationing or moving, these carriers offer the best cell phone coverage in Mt. Laurel, NJ.
